Doncaster Lakeside 2009
The second sponsored walk around Doncaster Lakeside
took place on Sunday 3 May 2009. As last year, we walked
five circuits of the lake which covers a distance of
around ten miles. Despite what the photo suggests, eight
of us took part - Lesley Hurworth, Lynne Coppendale, Lyn
Hopson, Sally Dring, my parents, Jeeves the dog, and
myself. The astute amongst you (and those who know us!)
will notice that Lesley is missing. She elected to run
part of the way. Some might argue this was cheating -
after all, the event was billed as a sponsored ‘walk’.
Anyway, Lesley was in the process of getting changed when
the photo was taken.
As last year, we were fortunate to have another sunny
day, although it was far windier making the lake rather
choppy. We replaced the lost calories by finishing off
with a slap-up feed in Frankie and Benny’s nearby.
